On April 22 at 5:00 pm, the book Portraits of Young Men and the video work Serious Personal Conviction - on measurements of conscience by Carl Johan Erikson and Björn Larsson will be presented.
In the book we meet the eyes of young men from the turn of the last century. What they all have in common is that they are on the threshold of adulthood. They have all donned military uniforms and, together with a photographer, have immortalised themselves. They pose like the young recruits they are in a Sweden that introduced conscription in 1901.
In the video we meet former conscientious objectors and young people today who discuss taking another human being's life in a possible war situation.
The book and the video work are part of Refuse to Kill - Stories of the Unarmed Men, an artistic research project by Carl Johan Erikson and Björn Larsson. The project is conducted at the Kungl. Konsthögskolan in Stockholm. The book, which is the third in a series of publications from Vägra Döda, is designed by Jesper Canell & Daniel Flodin and printed by Göteborgstryckeriet.
Location. Kungkunlhögskolan, Rutiga Golvet, Flaggmansvägen 1, Skeppsholmen.Time: 22 April at 16:00 - 19:00
